The Fifth Annual Conference OIL REFINING, TRANSIT AND EXPORTS IN THE CIS AND BALTIC STATES
|
Conference abstracts and preliminary programme
Dynamic growth in crude prices and higher motor fuel standards in Europe and the Russian Federation have increased the technological demands on developing refining in Russia and other CIS states. The last autumn fuel crisis in Russia showed a new period is beginning, one in which even large oil producers cannot be guaranteed to avoid problems with motor fuel supplies on internal markets.
Developing refining capacity in Belarus opens a number of new export possibilities for exports from the country. The export sales of Belarus oil products at Baltic ports is topical for Belarus exporters and many other market players alike. The topic of developing supplies from Belarus to Baltic ports and setting up a new terminal in Riga as well as supplies to the Ukrainian and Mediterranean markets will be among the issues discussed at the conference.
Along with developing supplies from Belarus refineries, boosting refining efficiency at existing refineries in the CIS and Baltic states will be among topics discussed at the forum.
Raising the effectiveness of domestic markets motor fuels supplies and increasing oil products export margins require the owners of CIS refineries to make decisive steps in order to achieve higher technological levels at their enterprises. There is mounting pressure on refineries operators in order to make most efficient decisions in a very short period of time. These issues will be widely discussed at the Odessa conference.
Even good technology at refineries is not enough in and of itself to guarantee high profits. The current situation with crude supplies and other feed stocks and changing demands for high-quality oil products and primary refining products require ever closer cooperation among a wide range of specialists — analysts, technology experts, logistics experts, traders, financial analysts and many other professionals. Their meeting at the Odessa forum traditionally fosters deeper comprehension of the most topical trends in the downstream sector in the CIS and Baltic states region. |
